Our Leadership Team

Richard stepped down as CEO of the Co-op in 2017 after helping lead its turnaround, and now pursues a portfolio career. With over 30 years’ retail experience, he has been involved in the growth of JD Wetherspoon and the turnarounds of several major UK brands. He is currently Chair of On the Beach PLC, Two Sisters Food Group and Wolf & Badger Ltd, Co-chair of the Retail Sector Council. He’s Co-chair of the Retail Sector Council, lead non-executive Director at the Department for Education and has been asked by the new Government to establish Skills England. 

Sally is the Director of Start Strong and a leading voice for babies and young children in the UK. Her career spans senior roles across charities, academia, and national and local government, where she has led the development and delivery of services and driven system and policy change. Sally advises a number of organisations, including the Department for Education, and has received several awards for her leadership and campaigning for babies and young children.
